How to prep for your brand photo session | Female portrait photographer Brighton & Hove, East Sussex

Lifestyle portrait photographer Brighton. Female photographer specialising in headshots, portraits and personal branding photography. Outdoor portrait session in Brighton, Sussex.

You’ve been listening to me talking about the importance of personal brand photography and you’ve finally made the decision to invest in your business with a personal branding photoshoot. You know it will make a huge difference having authentic photos of yourself that showcase what you and your business are all about. But before we start shooting, I highly recommend you going through these steps first!

  1. Know your brand and what you would like to get out of your brand portrait session.

It is really important that you know your own brand before you have photographs taken to ensure that the images we create together match your expectations. This is why I want you to think about the photos that you would like to end up with. What does your brand represent, and how would you like to portray yourself in your brand photos? Think about who your target client is, and how these brand images may attract them.

  2. Select your outfits.

Don’t wait until the day of your photoshoot, but select the outfits you would like to wear in advance. It depends on which brand session you’ve decided to go for, but all of my personal branding shoots allow you to have multiple outfit changes.

  3. Decide on the location.

Choose a location that makes sense for your brand, e.g. if you are a yoga instructor and you own a yoga studio, then it makes sense to have your lifestyle portraits taken at your yoga studio. Are you a business coach and work mainly from home? We can definitely do your brand shoot at your own house or flat, but it is important that you prepare your home for the shoot - this mainly means declutter, tidy up and clean! :-) And remember, if you want to use someone else’s business premises you will need to ask permission from the owners!

  4. Look like yourself during your brand shoot.

While some clients get all glammed up for their brand shoot, it is important to ensure that you still look like yourself. Your portraits should be an authentic representation of you, as we want to showcase your uniqueness and all that you and your brand have to offer.

Have I convinced you to book in your brand photoshoot yet? I’m a female photographer based in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex and would love to photograph you and your business, so let’s talk! Together we can create some gorgeous headshots, portraits and other brand images that you can then use for your website and social media channels.
