Creative Headshots Brighton | Portrait session in the Lanes with artist Dana Fairhurst

Portrait photography session with female artist Dana Fairhurst in the Lanes in Brighton. Drinking coffee, Brighton photographer capturing creative business portraits in Brighton and Hove.

When a good friend hires you to take their professional portraits, you know it’s going to be a fun shoot. I know Dana through my daughter’s primary school and we’ve been friends from the moment our little ones started Reception. She is insanely creative and finally took the plunge to set up her own business selling her amazing artwork.

Dana is the owner of Allegraphy - a place where colour, shapes and words come together to inspire joyful contemplation. In her art pieces you’ll see her love of food, music, spirituality, nature and humour. Please check out her work here. We have one of her pieces hanging in our dining room and I’ve had so many people asking me who the artist is!

We picked a cold, but lovely sunny morning for our photo session and headed to the Lanes in Brighton. It’s a very vibrant, colourful and fun area in the city centre and it fits Dana’s brand perfectly. I always get lost in Brighton, no matter where I go, but this also makes me discover new places! I love that there are so many lovely colourful graffiti walls to work with and if you get up early it is still nice and quiet.

We did a few outfit changes, changed the artwork in the photos and just had the best time! We ended our shoot with a well deserved lunch at Pompoko, a Japanese place on Church street, I would honestly recommend you going there. The food is excellent!
