Natural Headshot Photographer Brighton & Hove | Professional portraits at Hove Beach

Over Summer I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Laurie, a consultant nephrologist in Brighton, a fellow mum and author. She was after some professional, but informal headshots, and we decided to do our lifestyle portrait photo session at Hove seafront, so we could make use of the colourful beach huts which provide a gorgeous backdrop. Hove seafront has so many great spots to photograph people, apart from the beach huts, there’s obviously the sea which is a stunning backdrop for natural looking portraits, but also the stairs to the beach, as well as the shelter (the lovely benches) on the promenade can be used as a setting for your images.

It was a warm, but cloudy day and we started off at Hove beach and just went for a stroll along the seafront. I am always trying to make all my brand and portrait photo sessions as informal as possible. It’s important that you feel at ease in front of my camera, a big part of my job as a photographer is to guide you and to make you feel totally relaxed before I even take my camera out! So you will find me chatting a lot during our photo sessions, I want to get to know you before we start with our headshot session, so I can make sure I shoot you just the way you are.

My headshot sessions are relatively short photoshoots, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a good variety of professional business portraits. By moving around a lot, making use of the natural environment that we’re in, and by trying out different poses, we can definitely achieve a great variety of images in just 30 minutes.
